Where the World Travels Around You...
Located one-half mile from the Culinary Institute of America in lovely Hyde Park, nestled in the country, le Petit Chateau Inn is convenient to major cities, historic villages, the train station and airports.
We have Culinary Institute of America Chefs who do all the cooking and baking. They also welcome and greet our guests!
You'll experience impromptu cooking lessons during breakfast from our morning Chef. Our evening chefs give you a casual food demonstration in the afternoon while they prepare fresh baked goods for the breakfast. We serve Artisinal Cheese Plates from Hudson Valley purveyors and Afternoon Refreshments. We can make restaurant reservations for you.
Disappointed that the CIA is closed when you
want to visit? Don’t be! Hyde
Park and it’s nearby villages Rhinebeck
and New
Paltz boasts at least ten CIA owned and staffed restaurants.
Our Culinary Getaways offer one-hour Gourmand classes any
day of the week.
Our
rooms
have modern amenities with private, luxurious baths, cable
TV, VCR (some with DVD) and wireless internet access. Our
cozy fireplaces are just a light switch and you are romantically
engulfed in warm heat and soft light.
Environmentally Astute: We make our own non-toxic cleaning
solutions, purchase organic soaps for our bath, laundry,
and dishwashing. We purchase Seventh Generation paper products.
We even dry our wash on our laundry line. We are as organic
as we can afford. Also vegetarian. We recycle and compost
everything we can. We have a large garden that provides
us with seasonal herbs, vegetables and fresh flowers.
Beautiful pond views, magnificent pine trees
and a Christmas tree farm located on a forty acre estate
provide year round beauty. The Inn was built in 1900 and
is surrounded by ancient pines. Completely renovated with
modern amenities, central air and heat. It is a tranquil
property where one can stroll past a serene pond replete
with ducks, great blue herons and turtles. Even (very large)
carp keep the pond pristine year round.
Each
room is named after a famous French wine region. A welcome
gift of refreshments and cheese from France greets each
guest upon their arrival. Each room holds numerous books
regarding wine.A guest can read from a vast array of material
on French, Italian, American and New World wines. There
are wine related travel videos and a CD collection of the
wine world for further enjoyment.
One does not need to leave their room in order
to travel the world. This makes the Inn a perfect Winter
Retreat, snow bound with the fireplace, food, wine, books
and good company.
One literally can travel the International
World of wine when staying at the Inn.
